Michelle Obama, Serena Williams, Kelly Rowland and more recreate Beyonce's Formation look to celebrate star's birthday

Beyonce's 36th birthday has been celebrated in a very big way today.

Former first lady Michelle Obama, Beyonce's Destiny's Child bandmates, tennis ace Serena Williams and others all took part in a photo tribute where they dressed up like the superstar in her Formation video to mark her special day.

The images were posted on Beyonce's website with the message: "Happy Birthday Beyonce, you're your family and friends."

As well as Beyonce's mum Tina Knowles, the superstar's five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy also took part.

Adele was also among the sea of famous faces to wish Beyonce happy birthday on Monday.

The Hello singer shared a black and white image of the mum-of-three on Twitter.

He then urged them to join him in singing happy birthday to the Lemonade star, who gave birth to their twins Rumi and Sir Carter in June.

A video posted on the Music Choice Instagram page appeared to show Beyonce dancing along to the tribute.
